Amhran na leabhar

Amhran na leabhar is an Irish poem written by Tomás Rua Ó Súilleabháin.

It tells the tale of a schoolmaster who had diligently contributed to preserving the Irish language and history through teaching in a time of British rule. The schoolmaster was one day transferred to another town and sent his precious collection of Irish books on a ship while he traveled by road. The boat sank, and the books were lost at sea.

This demo arrangement is my take on the tune. The footage was filmed in Montreal during a snowstorm. All parts are played and recorded by me.

My Funny Valentine

My string arrangement of the 1937 show tune that was popularized by Frank Sinatra. I’ve always found this tune to be pretty dark, and thought it would work well for strings. All tracks are played by me on violin and viola.
